Terms and Conditions

  • The submitted idea must not conflict with the principles of Islamic law or public morals
  • The participation must not violate any rights, international or local laws or regulations, nor may it, in any form, encourage the violation of such rights, laws, or regulations.
  • The participant must disclose any contractual obligations they may have with any third party, including but not limited to talent management or business agencies. Such obligations may fully or partially restrict the participant from joining the competition, or may limit the fund's rights to use the submission or content in whole or in part.
  • These terms and conditions are subject to the applicable laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Any dispute arising from or related to participation in the hackathon shall be under the jurisdiction of the competent judicial authorities in Riyadh.
  • The fund bears no responsibility for any material or moral damages incurred by the participant as a result of participating in the hackathon.
  • The fund shall not be held liable for any incorrect or inaccurate information delivered due to human error or technical malfunctions, including but not limited to loss, delay, or deletion of data transmission; failure of telephone lines, computers, networks, computer accessories, software; or any other reasons that may hinder website access. Participants are responsible for ensuring that all materials are submitted accurately and properly at all times.
  • The participant acknowledges that all information, designs, works, and documents submitted for participation in the hackathon do not contain any form of abuse, infringement, defamation, insult, threat, contempt, or any other prohibited content. The fund reserves the right to refuse publication or to exclude the submission to safeguard its rights. The participant shall bear full responsibility and any criminal, civil, or administrative penalties arising from such violations.
  • The participant must have full authority to accept the terms and conditions, and must fulfill any third-party rights. The participant shall bear sole responsibility for any breach of this clause.
  • The fund shall not be held liable for any legal proceedings related to the violation of any rights, laws, or regulations that the participant may have committed before official authorities or otherwise, including any breach of confidentiality.
  • The fund reserves the right not to disclose the judging results of the final submissions.
  • By registering as a participant in the Industry Hackathon, you consent to sharing your idea with the fund or its appointed representative, and to being included in the evaluation process.
  • In the event of a dispute regarding the intellectual property of the submission or any other disagreement, the participant releases the fund from all liability for any financial losses or damages, including psychological harm, that may result. The participant shall bear full and sole responsibility for any violation or infringement. The fund, or its appointed representative, reserves the right to exclude the violating participant.
  • The participant acknowledges that the submitted entry is not subject to any ownership rights or obligations toward third parties, and that there are no legal or regulatory barriers preventing the fund from using, republishing, or modifying the submission as it deems appropriate.
  • All rights related to the hackathon—including its name, title, designs, logos, and distinctive marks—are the exclusive property of the fund.
  • The fund does not assume responsibility for any intellectual property rights claimed by the participant, nor shall it bear any legal liability regarding the intellectual property of materials uploaded to the competition page that may constitute a violation of registered proprietary rights.
  • The participant has the right to withdraw from the Industry Hackathon at any stage prior to the announcement of the winners, provided that an email is sent to the Industry Hackathon management team at the following address: hackathon@sidf.gov.sa
  • The fund and the Industry Hackathon management team shall not be held responsible for any disputes that may arise between the participant's team members.
  • In the event of winning the prize, the award will be presented to the team leader who completed the registration through the website.
  • The fund, or any party it authorizes, has the right to publish competition submissions through any media outlet. The participant also agrees that the fund may use their submission in promotional, advertising, and publicity activities.
  • The participant (team leader) is required to attend all days of the hackathon and complete all stages and deliverables personally. No individual may act on their behalf at any stage of the hackathon without official approval from the fund.
  • Participants are not permitted to submit the same work, nor may they copy, duplicate, or derive it from another participant's submission. In the event of such an occurrence, the submission will be disqualified.
  • In the event of two similar submissions from different parties or individuals, the fund's policy will rely on the date and time the submission was sent to the competition's website to determine the official reference and representative for the entry—unless the other party provides formal proof of ownership.
  • The participant acknowledges their consent for the fund to conduct promotional campaigns, and agrees to the use of winning submissions and the names of the winners across all available media outlets.
  • By using the hackathon website, the participant acknowledges the fund's right to retain all submitted files and related content. The fund also retains any detailed files attached to the competition entry form or sent via email.
  • The participant is fully committed to integrity throughout all stages of the hackathon.
  • By using the hackathon website, the participant acknowledges the fund's right to request additional information or supporting documents related to the submission in order to verify its authenticity. The fund also reserves the right to share the participant's information and documents with its advisors or any entity it deems appropriate.
  • If it is determined that a hackathon winner has violated any of the terms and conditions or committed any legal breach to win the hackathon, they shall be subject to criminal, civil, and administrative responsibilities and penalties in accordance with the relevant regulations.
  • Acceptance of a participant into the hackathon does not constitute qualification for the final presentation before the judging panel. There will be elimination rounds during the hackathon following acceptance, through which submissions will be reviewed and the best ideas selected for presentation to the final judging panel to determine the winners.
  • Participation in the hackathon shall in no way grant any additional advantage with respect to the fund's current or future services, products, or contracts, nor shall it have any positive or negative impact on the participant's current or future dealings with the fund.
  • At any stage of the hackathon, the fund reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not comply with the terms and conditions, evaluation criteria, overall direction of the hackathon, or for any other reason the fund deems sufficient for exclusion.
  • The fund reserves the right to cancel or modify the prizes without prior notice, and participants in the hackathon shall not have the right to object.
  • The fund reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions from time to time. Accordingly, participants are responsible for reviewing these terms and conditions, and the fund is not obligated to announce any changes made.
  • Participation in the project by its organizing or sponsoring entities shall be considered as participation in the individual track, not the entity track; the individual and their team shall be represented, not the entity to which they belong.
  • By using the hackathon website, the participant acknowledges the fund's right to retain registration data, utilize it, and make it available to third parties, namely the hackathon's sponsoring companies.
  • By participating in any challenge, the participant agrees and acknowledges that intellectual property rights created independently or prior to the hackathon remain the sole property of the participant. The participant retains all intellectual property rights unrelated to the hackathon. Under these terms and conditions, ownership of all rights in the competition belongs to the participant, and the fund may not take any action that conflicts with or adversely affects the participant's rights. Nothing in this agreement shall be interpreted as granting the fund any rights or licenses, whether explicitly, implicitly, or otherwise.
  • Registering an idea in the Industry Hackathon does not constitute registering it as intellectual property. Responsibility for registering the idea's intellectual property lies with the originator (the applicant).
  • The fund has full rights to publish and distribute the participant's submission to the hackathon as part of its promotional activities, through any media outlet, whether within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or abroad.
  • I acknowledge that I have read and understood all terms and conditions related to participating in the hackathon, and fully agree to them, including any future amendments
